Purpose of SWIFT Codes?
This code is used in case of transferring money between two banks. Most commonly when doing a wire transfer from international banks to a local bank. The SWIFT Code standard is given by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
How a SWIFT Code looks alike?
It can be 8 to 11 characters long. The first four characters consisting of letters only refers to the organization and the next two characters refers to the organization country. Whereas the next two characters which can be either letters or digits refers to the organization’s exact location. The next last three characters refer to the organization’s branch (This section is optional).
